Hi my name is Therese. I am a registered Nutritional Therapist with CNHC and BANT. CNHC (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council) is a government body Accredited Register of practitioners who meet UK standards and BANT (British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy) is a professional body for nutritionists qualified in both the science of nutrition along with clinical practice. My qualification is from the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London.
The relationship between food, emotion and lifestyle is interconnected therefore my background in personal training along with a natural ability to connect with people helping them achieve their personal health goals provides me with the tools to excel in one to one nutritional therapy consultations.
I believe natural nutrient rich food and good lifestyle choices are key to health however what works for one person may not work for another due to our biochemical uniqueness. This is why I use a total holistic approach incorporating evidence-based science to build a plan specific to each person. No two naturopathic plans are the same but instead designed in a way so it can be easily incorporated into your daily life.

More About Me
Apart from being a mum, a wife and a UK recognised and registered nutritional therapist, my career so far has included supplement health advisor, personal trainer and flight attendant. In retrospect I have a lot to be thankful for. Of course life has thrown a few grenades in my way. My father died aged 37 from cancer and my mother developed high blood pressure aged 30 then terminal cancer aged 70. Among my wider family heart disease scores highly in being the biggest contributor to family loss.
I had never really questionned my own health however when I developed pregnancy hypertension in my mid 30s, which still remains today, the realisation dawned that my genetic heritage, when combined with a lack of attention to my general health in my 20s, was not a recipe for longevity. I knew I needed to work harder than the average person to look after my health.
During my 20s whilst longhaul flying brought excitement, adventure and fun it also brought lack of sleep, unstructured eating habits leading to weight gain, yo yo dieting and sense of failure when weight returned. This also resulted in my first experience with IBS. My curiosity led me to nutrition to help reduce both the effects of and the IBS itself; this turned out to be a successful strategy, as I had no need for medical intervention. Without fully realising it was at this point the seed of interest in ‘food as medicine’ commenced, later leading to research into how food can heal, mastering healthy cooking, persuing a qualification in personal training and the ultimate accomplishment in spending three years at the College of Naturopathic Medicine passing with distinction.
Now that I am fully qualified in nutritional therapy my main passion is helping people with cardiometabolic syndrome; basically those with high cholesterol, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, pre-diabetes and weight issues. This subject is close to my heart: for 20 years I have been managing my own blood pressure and, during this time, even managed to reduce my medication dosage – something quite unusual in genetic hypertension. I also continue to reduce the risk of developing related conditions and I want to share my success and knowledge so others like you can benefit.
